Communication is something that is so essential in our lives that we barely take time to look at it like a skill we should cultivate.
We use it to buy our coffee, speak to our family and friends and try to convince customers to buy our product.
To give you insight, I work in sales so my day consist of communicating with all types of people and I’ve been doing it for nearly 10 years.
Imagine if we solely focused on improving our communication, how much impact that would have on our professional and personal lives. Imagine how much more happier you would be, and how much everyone else would be if everyone was happier etc.
As time went by I noticed the more I improved my communication skills the more I got out of life. From my relationships, my pay at work, the people I meet and also my social impact.
Till this day it’s the skill I work on every single day, at work and at home I always look for ways to improve. Below are some point which helped me develop my communication skills, and are things I utilise till this day.
Listen deeply
I don’t mean look at someone in the face and focus on their expression etc, I mean actually listen and listen deeply.
